Stacie Selover has been shaping young minds in public education since 1990, but her heart has long harbored a dream inspired by her third-grade love of the Little House books: to teach in a one-room schoolhouse. In 2024, after 35 years in the classroom, Stacie decided it was time to turn that childhood dream into reality. The result? Transitions Microschool—a labor of love and a fresh, exciting chapter in her teaching journey. Stacie couldn’t be more thrilled to retire from public school and embark on this new adventure!
Raised in Pasco County, Stacie is a proud graduate of Ridgewood High School and the University of Central Florida. As a Florida-certified teacher of English/Language Arts, Social Studies, and Gifted education (Certificate #658500), with additional training in Computer Science, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. Her true superpower, however, lies in forging meaningful relationships and creating connections across diverse subject areas.
Outside of her professional achievements, Stacie’s life is a tapestry of love and adventure. She’s engaged to her high school sweetheart and treasures her family, which includes two accomplished adult daughters, a brilliant 3-year-old grandson, a joyful 1-year-old granddaughter, and two delightfully chaotic dogs. In her downtime, you can find her exploring the world, hunting for treasures at yard sales, or unwinding with her favorite video games.
Transitions Microschool is thrilled to welcome the dynamic and talented Margaret "Ms. Maggie" Duguid to our program!
A proud Spring Hill native and graduate of Springstead High School, Ms. Maggie pursued her passion for education at the University of South Florida, where she earned her degree in elementary education with a focus on exceptional student education. She is a Florida-certified teacher in reading and ESE, bringing expertise, creativity, and a heart for teaching to our students.
Outside the classroom, Ms. Maggie's vibrant personality truly shines! As an Orlando resident, she's a Disney enthusiast who loves soaking in the magic as often as possible. As the ultimate "fun auntie," she adores spending quality time with her niece and nephew. In her spare time, she channels her creativity into traveling, cosplay, and crafting, making her a fantastic addition to our innovative and close-knit school community.
Mrs. Starr’s journey to the classroom is as vibrant and diverse as her teaching career! With certifications in English/Language Arts and Theater Arts, along with endorsements in ESOL, Reading, and Gifted education, Mrs. Starr has spent the past 32 years making a difference in public schools.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Starr has worn many hats, teaching everything from ESE, Reading, Math, and Science to High School History, Drama, and Peer Counseling. However, her true passion lies in teaching 6th-grade language arts—a role she has embraced with enthusiasm and dedication for the past 24 years. Her wealth of experience and love for literature make her a cherished guide for her students as they embark on their own journeys of discovery and creativity.
On the home front, Mrs. Starr is happily married to her high school sweetheart. Together, they’ve raised two wonderful adult sons and share their home with two adorable and affectionate Shih Tzu dogs. When she’s not inspiring her students, you’ll find Mrs. Starr indulging her creative side with crafting, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, or enjoying heartwarming Hallmark movies. Above all, she treasures spending time with her family and friends, creating memories as warm and meaningful as her classroom.
